Is hacking illegal in Malaysia?

Any time a person hacks into a computer without permission, a crime is committed—even if the person doesn't steal information or damage the system. The offender can be fined up to RM100,000 or jailed up to seven years, or both under section 5 of the Computer Crimes Act 1997.
